Within the framework of the cooperation between SCiDEV
Center and Eugenius Foundation, the activity “Movie Night – The Cyberbully” was
organized as part of joint efforts to strengthen education on cyberbullying,
critical thinking, and effective responses to digital forms of violence.
Designed as an engaging and reflective learning experience,
the activity aimed to use the language of cinema as a powerful tool to create a
safe and open space for dialogue among young people. Through this approach,
participants were encouraged to explore their interactions in the virtual
world, critically assess online behaviors, and better understand the social and
psychological consequences of cyberbullying.
The screening was followed by a guided discussion that
fostered active participation, allowing attendees to share personal
perspectives, challenge assumptions, and collectively reflect on real-life
experiences related to online safety and digital responsibility. Particular
emphasis was placed on recognizing harmful patterns, building empathy, and
identifying practical ways to respond to and prevent cyberbullying in everyday
digital interactions.
Ultimately, the activity contributed to strengthening
participants’ awareness, resilience, and sense of responsibility in navigating
digital spaces, while reinforcing the importance of collaborative efforts in
promoting safer and more inclusive online communities.
